My passion for design started as a young boy when I’d spend hours building cars and helicopters with Lego, as well as creating intricate automatons. What really hooked me was understanding how things were made: the joins, the pulleys, the mechanisms and I was meticulous about colour and symmetry.
My family’s patience was definitely tested as I took household objects apart and then painstakingly put them back together again. I just love figuring out how things fit together, and I’m in my element calculating ratios, testing ideas and making sure every section is thought through before the very first piece is put in place. For me, it’s about the research – I need to know that it’s all going to fit and function perfectly before I get started on the actual build.
I studied engineering at university, which gave me a solid foundation in problem-solving and precision. However, I realised I wanted to be more hands-on so joined B&Q and before I knew it was managing a multi-million-pound kitchen department, where I learned what really matters to people and their homes.
It was there that I discovered success isn’t about selling units, it is the result of listening and helping customers make choices they’d still feel good about years later.

When I moved into kitchen design, I loved the balance of technical and creative. It’s about spatial planning, CAD modelling and manufacturing expertise but also understanding how colours and textures bring joy and that your kitchen is a huge part of day-to-day life.
For me, the best part comes in two moments: First, when a customer sees their design and says, ‘That’s exactly what I needed even though I didn’t know how to explain it.’ Second is months later, when they’re living in the space and tell us how much they love that tiny detail because it was created just for them.
At Hush, I’m involved in every single kitchen we make and sit down with our team each week to review every project in progress.
When we’re all happy with the final result, I sign off every aspect not just as a formality, but as a personal guarantee that it has been designed with care and built with confidence.
If you’d like to see how we can do the same for you, please get in touch, we’d love to help.
